ACT Deposit Program

  Your Deposits Can Fuel Community Development

Keep your large cash balances secure and support community growth.

The Advancing Communities TogetherSM, or ACTSM, Deposit Program, aims to bolster funding for community lending. By placing deposits in the program, socially responsible investors can access multi-million-dollar FDIC insurance, working directly with a single bank — ours! — all while helping multiple community development financial institution (CDFI) banks and minority depository institution (MDI) banks support underserved communities.

The ACT Deposit Program is a special program within IntraFi's ICS® service that was developed in cooperation with the Community Development Bankers Association (CDBA) and National Bankers Association (NBA). ICS is a smart, convenient deposit placement service used to make large deposits over $250,000 eligible for FDIC insurance at multiple IntraFi network banks.

Note: A list identifying IntraFi network banks appears at https://www.intrafi.com/network-banks. Certain conditions must be satisfied for “pass-through” FDIC deposit insurance coverage to apply

A Mission-Critical Initiative

Deposits made into the ACT Deposit Program can provide banks with the funding to make loans. Loans made by institutions like ours may include those for critical initiatives, like producing affordable housing, financing small businesses, creating jobs, and expanding neighborhood facilities that provide much-needed services for families with low incomes.

Support Communities in Need While Protecting Your Deposit

Through just one bank relationship, your deposit can help participating CDFI banks and MDI banks provide community support. You can also:

  • access millions in FDIC insurance from many IntraFi network banks while supporting communities in need;
  • enjoy daily liquidity;
  • earn interest at the ACT Deposit Program interest rates;
  • conveniently access reports, available online 24/7, showing balances, transactions, interest, and other important details associated with your accounts;
  • save time with the ease of one bank relationship and one bank statement

Deposit placement in the ACT Deposit Program within ICS (“Program”) is subject to the terms, conditions, and disclosures in the applicable agreements, including the ACT Addendum to the Deposit Placement Agreement.  A portion of a deposit placed in the Program may be allocated to IntraFi network banks that are not community development financial institutions or minority depository institutions.
The interest rate earned on Program deposits will likely be lower than the interest rate available on deposits outside of the Program.
Deposit placement through an IntraFi service is subject to the terms, conditions, and disclosures in applicable agreements.  Deposits that are placed through an IntraFi service at FDIC-insured banks in IntraFi’s network are eligible for FDIC deposit insurance coverage at the network banks. The depositor may exclude banks from eligibility to receive its funds.  To meet conditions for pass-through FDIC deposit insurance, deposit accounts at FDIC-insured banks in IntraFi’s network that hold deposits placed using an IntraFi service are titled, and deposit account records are maintained, in accordance with FDIC regulations for pass-through coverage. Although deposits are placed in increments that do not exceed the FDIC standard maximum deposit insurance amount (“SMDIA”) at any one bank, a depositor’s balances at the institution that places deposits may exceed the SMDIA before settlement for deposits or after settlement for withdrawals. The depositor must make any necessary arrangements to protect such balances consistent with applicable law and must determine whether placement through an IntraFi service satisfies any restrictions on its deposits.
